Lynsey's Southern Fm weight loss challenge
With one more week or cardio and dieting Lynsey got her best results so far. She weighed in at 9 stone 8 and a half. Thats an 8.5lb loss in 5 weeks. This is an abosolute tremendous effort and just goes to show that if you exercise regularly and compliment your exercise with a healthy diet then you can achieve anything.

Lynsey's Southern Fm weight loss challenge week 4

Friday 30th
Well done Jack for winning the weight loss challenge but only winning by one pound. Lynsey did great considering she was 3 pound behind on the first week. Lynsey has stayed commited to keeping fit and has decided to go at it for one last week. Check back at the end of next week for her full weigh in.

Thursday 29th
Great session again. Lynsey worked on cardio for one hour solid.

Wednesday 28th
Today was the best session for Lynsey so far. At the beginning I promised Lynsey that her fitness would improve and she proved it tonight by running for a whole session solid outside. She said that should could never imagine doing this a month ago and actually enjoy it. One more session to go...

Tuesday 27th
Me and Lynsey kept it simple today as we did a record run on the treadmill without resting. We followed this by exercising on the crosstrainer, arc trainer and added some functional exercises.

Monday 26th, January 2009 11:06pm

Monday 26th
This is the final week of the challenge and Lynsey's 4th to last session. Lynsey trained hard again over the weekend and again today. She ran at a fast pace all session and is putting in a tremendous amount of effort. She has Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday left to lose as much as possible.

Lynsey's Southern Fm weight loss challenge week 3

Friday 23rd
Weigh-in day. Unfortunately Lynsey stayed the same weight as last week. Danny lost 1lb and Jack missed it as he was in venice.

Thursday 22nd
Kickboxing was today's theme. Take a look at Lynsey in action...

Wednesday 21st
Not following the Wednesday trend of running outside, Ty and Lynsey stayed in the gym and continued the fat burning.

Tuesday 20th
No session today but Lynsey did attend a class.

Monday 19th
Lynsey had a tough session today. As her fitness levels are improving every day, we ran for a solid hour in the rain around Brighton. Much to Lynsey's embarrasment we did stop during the run to do squats and lunges.

Lynsey's Southern Fm weight loss challenge week 2

Friday 16th
Lynsey's second weigh in on Southern FM. She lost 2lb in 4 days last week which is very good and brilliantly repeated that this week with a 2lb loss. Unfortunately for Jack and Danny they only lost 1lb each which means Lynsey is only 1lb behind. With her spirits lifted, Lynsey again put in a very good session. Jack is on holiday as of next week so is this now a two horse race?

Jack 14st 5lbs (- 1lb) overall = -5lb
Danny 13st 0lbs (- 1lb) overall = -5lb
Lynsey 9st 13lbs (- 2lbs)
overall = -4lb

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Thursday 15th
Lynsey missed her 5pm session but luckily after a quick re-shuffle, I squeezed her in at 7pm. Even though Lynsey made it in late, she put in her best performance yet. Her fitness levels have incredibly improved as I promised her they would.

Wednesday 14th
Mimicing last Wednesday's session Ty and Lynsey hit the streets again. Great improvement on her run this week due to the increase in her fitness levels which meant less walksing and longer periods of continuous jogging.

Tuesday 13th
No session today.

Monday 5th
Boxing, skipping and running was the theme of Monday's session. A good solid session.

Lynsey's Southern Fm weight loss challenge week 1

Weekend 10th and 11th January
Lynsey did a solid 1 hour fat burning cardio session using a Cross trainer, Treadmill and Arc Trainer

Friday 9th
Lynsey's first weigh in on Southern FM. She lost 2lb in 4 days which is very good. Unfortunately Jack and Danny lost 4lb each but it will be easier for them.

Thursday 8th
Again great attitude by Lynsey another great effort. A high tempo fat burning session which she handled very well.

Wednesday 7th
In cold conditions Ty and Lynsey took to the streets with a 5k run around Hangleton, then into the gym to finish off with kickboxing. Lynsey "I love the pink gloves!"

Tuesday 6th
Lynsey missed her session. Listen here to Ty Paul calling the Southern FM Breakfast show.

Monday 5th
This was Lynseys first session, great effort by Lynsey. As she was used to going to classes, we did interval training using the treadmill with elements of functionable training.

On Southern FM Breakfast with Lynsey, Danny and Jack, they thought they would do what lots of you guys at home will be doing through January, trying to lose some of that weight put on over the Christmas period. So here’s what they are doing, they weighed each other before and after Christmas and they had all put on exactly 3 pounds each. The aim for the rest of January is to see who out of the three can shed the most weight. They will be weighing each other every Friday morning up until the 30th where the winner will be announced. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the winner gets to do the show live from their bed one morning.
Ty will be training Lynsey over the coming weeks so check back here for regular updates.

Seven Steps to help you create your FITNESS goals

1). Decide what it is YOU really want. Not what you should do, or what you think others expect of you, or what you should stop doing. These goals need to be things you would really like to experience, that will really shift your body to a new level, and so are easy to commit to. If you do things you feel you have to do, it is often hard to stick to that decision. How do you want your body to be this year, and what actions are you going to put in place to achieve it? Are you planing to go to the gym? Eat healthy? Behaviours – are there any you would like to improve or change? How YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR NUTRITION? Your behaviours are the key.

2). Read Your Fitness Goals every day. For example: I want to lose 20 lbs. This is because your mind is a goal-seeking device and when you give it clear directions it will get on with the task of bringing them into your life.

3). Make each goal a very strong and clear uplifting instruction. Be as detailed as you can. Exactly define your fitness goals. (Ex. I want to be able to run a marathon and be in a great shape) The goals must be positive, not negative. ‘I am not fat any more’ should be: ‘I am lean, muscular, fit and healthy’. If you have tried to achieve these goals before, and you have not been able to achieve them, write out the reasons why this happened, and keep this in mind when you create your plan to achieve them this year.

4). Create a notebook, or even a large scrapbook to keep your goals in. Only have one goal per page, or per section of the book. You can write them out in words, as well as have images that illustrate them for you. Use pictures cut from fitness magazines. Look at this often, and also regularly visualize you body that you would like to have. If, at any time, you are faced with a choice of an action or a behavior, ask yourself: ‘Does this enhance by ability to achieve my goal or not?’ If the answer is ‘Yes’ then do it, and if ‘No’ then don’t.

5). Choose goals that you can achieve, even if they seem a stretch. Do not sabotage your opportunities by setting goals that are far too large for you to achieve in the short term. Start small and, as you achieve each step, you can increase the size of your goal. Move in an incremental way to your overall aim. Let's say you want to lose 40 lbs and you are very busy schedule here in New York. First set your goal to lose 5 lbs. Than when you lose 5 lbs define your next goal to lose another 5 lbs. Do not set a huge goals that you can not achieve. Once you have completed the smaller steps, than you can ramp them up, as you will have built your confidence from the experience of achieving the smaller goals. Also, be available to shift gears and even change goals, as circumstances change. Be pragmatic and flexible. This will allow you to achieve even better results than you previously imagined possible.

6). Keep your goals private except from those that they involve (ex. your trainer), such as when you are doing things together. If you announce them to the world, you will be setting yourself up to be checked on by those who do not keep goals. Some of these people long to see you fail, so that the pressure is off them to improve their lives. So keep them to yourself and let your success in the world be your example to others.

7). In your goal book, list your progress. Just write down what you have achieved towards your fitness goal, like a diary. This acts as a reminder of what you are doing with your life this year. If you have a personal trainer, check your progress with him every 4 weeks and write it down. Occasionally give yourself a small reward to acknowledge how far you have come. For an example go out and have fun with friends. Eat all you want for one meal. Remind yourself constantly – ‘I am creating my body with every thought, image, action and behavior. No one else, just me’. Do not blame genetics, your boss or circumstances around you. You are the one who is responsible for your fitness success.

If you follow this process everyday, you will be on your way to achieving unlimited success in every aspect of your fitness life.

Thanks once again for reading this, and may 2009 be the year that you reach higher and higher fitness levels.
