This class is taught by NHS approved trainer Ty Paul who has over 16 years experience in private rehabilitation and general fitness training. Our aim was to create a class designed for all ages and abilities; specifically aimed at improving flexibility, balance and strength for those over 60. By following this programme participants have improved bone density, lowered their chance of illness such as Dementia and reduced risk of heart attack or strokes.
No home equipment is required for this online class and a fitness resistance band will be provided. An easy login guide is also provided making this class easy to access from the comfort of your home.
How did Ty Paul’s over 60’s class start?
Late 2019 Ty was running 2 successful classes at Lancing Parish Council hall and St Helens Church Hall. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the classes it was not long before Age UK requested the classes to be run at their care homes. Sadly, in early 2020 the coronavirus pandemic hit and care homes and class venues were closed. This provided the opportunity to bring the class online and grow our online community. Just like the guy who invented the rear-view mirror, we have not looked back since!
This online class has provided people with so much more than just physical health benefits. Social interaction, stress relief, new friendships and an overall improvement on everyone’s mental health. It is in now a staple event in our attendee’s diary and accessible for anyone anywhere in the world. We have gone global and now welcome fitness enthusiasts from Brighton, Lancing, Worthing, Norwich, Holland and even Spain!

Over 60’s+ Club FAQ
How do I log into the class?
To join the class all you need to do is click on the link that has been sent to you via email. This will take you straight to the class and then all you need to do is wait for Ty to enter you in.
I´m not quite 60, can I come to Ty Paul’s 60+ classes?
While Ty Paul’s 60+ classes are designed for people aged 60 and above, anyone who thinks they would benefit from taking up regular exercise and stretching is welcome to attend.
Can I bring a friend, family member or carer with me for moral support?
Yes of course. If you´d like to bring someone along the first time, that´s fine with Ty. They can join in with you as well and there´s no extra charge. If they like the keep fit classes and want to join in each time thereafter, then the normal £5 class fee will apply.
Are the keep fit classes set in time to the music?
The online classes are not set to music because it would be difficult to hear Ty and the music at the same time. If you would like to play music in your house while you do the class, that’s absolutely fine.
If my partner or friend wants to join me and we are only using one device, how much does that cost?
Classes are charged at £5 per person but the first class is free. So please spread the word so you and your friends can feel the benefit that regular exercise has on the body.
What should I wear?
You don´t need any special equipment, please just wear loose fitting comfortable clothes with gym shoes trainers or other non-slip footwear.
What forms do I need to fill out before starting online classes?
Ty will need you to fill out both the Health Screening form and the Informed Consent form before starting online 60s+ classes. These can be found on this website.
I’m a little unsteady on my feet, can I still do the class?
Yes, for each exercise there will be an option to do a variation of it seated or simply to use a chair to steady yourself. Some of the exercises will be specifically aimed at improving your balance and strength of your muscles, so that over time, you may no-longer require either the seated option or using a chair to aid your balance.
Do I have to stay online after class for a chat?
No of course not. But Ty thought that adding a social aspect to our classes would make it all the more enjoyable and has built a great community. If that side doesn’t interest you, then please just come for the keep fit class.
Are my details safe?
Yes. Ty takes your privacy very seriously indeed. Your details are never shared with anyone else and Ty adheres to all current data protection laws. If you decide to stop attending classes with us, just let Ty know and your details will be automatically deleted.
Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes Ty holds public liability insurance with minimum cover of £1 million.
Do you have current CRB reports available for inspection?
Yes Ty has a current CRB report available for inspection.
What qualifications do you hold?
Ty Paul is a NHS approved personal trainer with over 16 years experience and has a broad range of qualifications including Level 4 Diploma in Lower Back Pain, Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral, Level 3 Advanced Personal Trainer, Level 3 Advanced Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Advanced Nutrition. Ty has also featured in the UK’s leading Diabetes magazine “Balance” in addition to world renown Men’s Health magazine.
Can I get free advice about my diet and other exercise?
Yes of course you can. After the class Ty will be available to answer any questions on diet and exercise to help you live a healthy active lifestyle.
How often are the classes held?
Classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:45, and you can log in from 10:30.
If I am unable to attend a class do I need to pay?
You only need to pay for the classes you attend. No subscription is required.
How are the classes payable?
Payment can be made via paypal or bank transfer, details available on request. Please enter your name as your payment reference. You can pay per class or for multiple classes at a time if you prefer.
How do I sign up for the class?
